Admissions & Getting Started

Caring Arms Community Group provides residential care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who require support to live safely and comfortably. Our goal is to ensure every prospective resident and their family understands our admissions process, eligibility requirements, and the standards of care we uphold. 

Admission to Caring Arms Community Group is available to adults who: 


  1. Have an intellectual or developmental disability.
  2. Require assistance with activities of daily living or health-related support. 
  3. Can benefit from a structured, safe, and supportive group home environment. 
  4. Meet any state specific licensing requirements for residential care.

The admissions process is designed to ensure the best fit for both the prospective resident and our home. Steps include: 


1. Initial Inquiry & Contact

  • Families or guardians submit an inquiry via our website or phone. 
  • Staff provide information about services, home environment and availability. 


2. Tour & Assessment

  • A scheduled tour allows families to visit the home and meet staff. 
  • Staff conduct a preliminary assessment to determine needs, level of care, and compatibility with current residents. 


3. Documentation & Health Records

  • Submission of necessary forms including:

               - Medical records and health history

               - Personal care plan

               - Guardianship or legal documents (if applicable)

  • Completion of any required state or regulatory forms. 


4. Care Planning & Agreement

  • Staff collaborate with family/guardian to develop an individualized care plan. 
  • Admission agreement and policies' are reviewed and signed. 


5. Move-In & Orientation

  • A move-in schedule is coordinated. 
  • Residents receive orientation to the home, staff, and daily routines. 


  • Residents and families have the right to privacy, dignity, and respect at all times.
  • Care plans are reviewed regularly to ensure ongoing safety, health, and well-being. 
  • Any changes to services, policies, or fees will be communicated in writing to families/ guardians.
